VISA INSTRUCTION

Honorary Consulate of the Kingdom of Thailand issues visas to citizens of the Azerbaijan Republic and other countries residing in Azerbaijan (if registration) wishing to make a short-term trip to Thailand. Documents for visa are accepted on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 14:00 to 16:00. To apply for a tourist visa the following documents should be submitted to the Consulate:

1. Passport, valid for at least six months
2. One photo size of 3.5 x 4.5 cm, taken in the last 6 months
3. Visa application form, duly completed and signed by Applicant
4. Tickets Reservations
5. Hotel reservations for the whole stay in Thailand
6. Documents proving the financial viability of the applicant (Certificate of employment and Bank statement).
7. Visa fee (depending on the type of visa).

If necessary, the Consul reserves the right to ask the applicant to provide further any document.
The visa is issued within 5 working days from the date of filing.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long can I stay with Tourist Visa?
You will be permitted to stay in Thailand for a period not exceeding 60 days per each entry with tourist visa.
I have only one way ticket from Azerbaijan to Thailand and I plan to buy return ticket in Thailand later on Can I apply tourist visa with one way ticket?
No, you cannot. The Consulate will refuse your visa application. In order to apply for Tourist visa you MUST present itinerary or confirm paid ticket showing ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE date as well.
After I have my visa, will I be able to enter Thailand?
Yes, but it is not 100% guarantee. Royal Thai Embassies and Royal Thai Consulates-General have the authority to issue visas to foreigners to travel to Thailand. The authority to permit entry and stay in Thailand, however, is with the immigration officers. In some cases, the immigration officer may not permit foreigner holding a valid visa entry into Thailand should the immigration officer find the reason to believe that he or she falls into the category of aliens prohibited from entering Thailand under the Immigration Act B.E. 2522 (1979).
I have visa which is going to expire soon, and I would like to renew it. Can I renew it?
No, you cannot. The Consulate in Azerbaijan cannot renew your visa. You MUST apply for a new visa and go through the whole visa application process again.
Does the Consulate have an express visa service in case if I find last minute ticket to Thailand. Can the Consulate issued visa to me within one day?
No, we do not have express visa service. In low season normally visa processing takes 3 working days, and high season takes 5 working days.
My income per month is less than 1.000 AZN after tax can I combine with other income?
Yes, you can combine your monthly income and money on your bank account.
Does the Consulate accept visa fee paid by credit card or bank transfer?
No, it does not. The visa fee MUST BE paid in USD ONLY in CASH.
I’m going to Thailand in December. Can I apply for tourist visa in September?
We suggest that the applicants should not apply for visa more than 3 months before his/her arrival date to Thailand. Otherwise your visa will be expired (normally visa validity is only 3 months).
What should be the validity of my passport in order to apply for visa?
Passport must be valid at least for 6 months from the date of your arrival to Thailand.
Do I need to pick up my passport with visa issued by myself?
No, you do not need to pick up your passport yourself. You can give your local ID to someone you know and trust to come and pick your passport for you.

The latest Covid-19 regulations
09 January 2023
1. Passengers older than 18 years old must provide proof of full vaccination or letter from physician showing recovery from Covid-19 not more than 6 months (180 days). Passengers who do not have vaccine must have letter from doctor to provide reason.
2. Passenger from countries having requirements which may prevent passengers to go back due to Covid-19 shall be required to have health insurance covering treatment of Covid-19 for the itineraries in Thailand plus 7 days. Those with business arrangement, including flight crew, may have a letter from the host to cover such need. The air ground staff at the departure airport and the Thai immigration officers will check the said document. This health insurance requirement shall not apply to the holder of diplomatic passport, official passport and UN laissez-passez.
3. Thai passport holding passengers are excepted from vaccination check and health insurance requirements.
4. Transit/transfer passengers are excepted from vaccination check and health insurance requirements. These passengers are subject to measures at the destination.

The Honorary Thai Consulate wishes to announce!

The Royal Thai Embassy wishes to announce that the Thai Government will launch the “Multiple – Entry Tourist Visa (METV)” scheme as of 13 November 2015. The validity of METV is six (6) months and the duration of stay is up to sixty (60) days per visit. This METV will replace “double” (2) and “triple” (3) entries visa schemes.
